Idea to drive traffic

I came across this idea to help start driving traffic to my blog. Answering questions other people have on Q and A sites. What do you think of this idea? and what are some of the best Q and A sites to start.
I didnt get the full explanation of how to do this just the idea in one sentence. I assume the basic premise is to create a profile or signature with your site attached as a link to drive traffic. Then answer relevant questions to people posting that might be interested in your site.

 

Sites like justanswers.com and so on would be the place to start. Sounds like it might work. I'm sure you will get the nofollow tag on all your links but its a worth a shot to see if it helps. Worse case you helped the world be a better place by helping someone with your knowledge.

 

This is a great idea. You just need to post your link in your answers. Try to start with some of the popular ones, ask.com, yahoo answers are good. Just put your link at the top and if you give a good answer, their is a chance you'll be selected for best answer and if that question gets 2k views/month you'll get 50-100 clicks so potentially big rewards. Test it out and if your interested, tell us here how it went.

 

I have used Yahoo answers and it gives me some traffic, anyway you have to reserve some time to answer questions and do it with many related questions according to the topic of your site.

I prefer to go for newly posted questions which is very easy to find in yahoo answers. I add my url in the sources section and only if is related to the topic I'm answering a question about, so is better that you link to a specific page in your site and not just the home.

Another benefit of doing it is that you get traffic in a long term fashion because the answers keep appearing in the search engines, but try to be the number one question by answering very well and answering exactly what the person is asking.

The last tip is to vote for your answer, sometimes you can win in this way because nobody else does it, so you can be the number one answer just by doing this.

 

The idea to drive traffic to your website is to harmonize your online efforts with your offline efforts. Do not discount the power of offline efforts. Every once in a while , it feels good to go traditional. By being able to reconcile your online and offline efforts, you double your opportunity.

i have tried yahoo answers but my yahoo answers account got banned quickly a few times. i guess it's because i tried to promote my link. I heard it will make decent money if you do it right.

I say yahoo answers and answerbag are the best places to drive traffic in terms of Q and A.

 

Yahoo! answers is the one of the best Q & A site's in the planet. But, i am not very sure about the signatures/links in the Yahoo! Answers profile.
