Cloaking refers to the trend of presenting various URLs to users and search engines.

 

That is keyword stuffing and an extreme black hat example of cloaking.

It is more grey hat than anything. If you use it properly it barely is past white hat SEO. It's not necessarily main content. Google will ban/penalize you for what you describe, so in that aspect you are right.

Okay you take cloaking in two forms:

1) As a means of keyword stuffing your content.

2) Hiding affiliate/referral links.


Obviously #1 imposes a larger risk and a larger reward. However I am going to highlight #2 a bit more.
