    hello Karthik!yeah new +1 icon looks great....would like to inform you that google going to add new feature on this button. Google + very soon going to launch new "Thanks" feature. whenever you click on this red +1 icon, google will ask you to give them 'Thanks' or not. this is what google is planning for...cheers!

    It definitely stands out on my websites, especially since I don't use much red. Design stand point I don't like it bc of the clash, SEO stand point I love it bc it stands out.

    I think the new icon is better than the old one. If you put the google icon in between the tweeter icon and facebook icon, it is pleasing to the eye because a red blue combination is a good contrast.
