What do you think is the best video editing software and why?

just based on reputation and longevity I'd go with Adobe Premiere

If you are going to commit and learn a piece of software you need to go with a company that you know will be around a while

 

you can't beat the premiere pro & after effects duo. final cut pro is also a beast. don't waste your time with the entry level stuff like windows movie maker. the professional grade stuff like final cut pro, premiere pro, and after effects will take you a while to learn (especially after effects), but it's worth it. get good at premiere pro and after effects and you'll be in high demand.

 

I would go for Adobe After Effect - big one but you can find a lot of great step by step video tutorials. If you get the basics you can do awesome videos. Check this out: http://www.videocopilot.net/ - awesome tutorials from basic to advanced level.

I personally think Adobe Premiere, becoz i am using it for all my video editing project and its quite decent software and more over easy to use.

Just pinnacle studio.
it's amazing software for work with video.
A lot of function help you to make very good project for you or your friends.

P.S: Movie Maker it's free program for people who want make something simple.
Maybe show some photo presentations with music or something like this. Nothing more.

 

Adobe After Effects....its indeed a killing software and with it...you can just do anything with your videos... ....

 

Go with Adobe in most cases and you won't regret

 

I recommend AVS Video Editor. Very easy to use, simple and fast enough for casual use.
