.XML sitempa VS .html Sitemap, which to use ?

I have learned that a .XML site map is very important for ranking in search engine. But in many quality websites i have seen their site map in simple .html format and they are ranking well in SE. So can you tell me what is the difference and impact of both on SE.

 

The .xml sitemap is for search engines, the .html is to improve accessibility of your website by providing one page which has links to all parts of your website for your users. I'd say have both.

Both HTML and XML sitemaps are useful. XML sitemaps help SEs to index and increase the visibility of all pages with ease. I'd say like HTML sitemaps for humans and XML sitemaps for SEs, but both can be viewed by humans and crawled by SEbots.

I use XML sitemap and it's always worked well for me. Never used the other so I can't speak to it.

XML site map is good one for the search engine and HTML site map make your site user friendly.

 

Both are important and useful aspects to improve the site's visibility in the web. for example XML sitemaps are useful and helpful to the search engines crawlers like Google search. By submitting xml sitemap to the google (google webmastertools), it will easily know our website and its pages, so that it will crawl our website and pages easily. And xml sitemaps are automated in many CMS systems like wordpress, blogger etc. And while coming to the html sitemaps, it will be helpful for the users to easily find the pages in the website. And even search engines crawl all the internal links which were found in the website.

 

XML site map is for search engines spiders. It helps them to crawl your site easily.

HTML site map is for website users. It helps them to view the site navigation and access any of the inner page directly.

So both the XML site map and HTML site map should be there in the website.

html is more like easy to understand than xml, still, both of them are a good format for making a site map.

Xml sitemap is for search engine, it helps to indexed your web pages faster by spider. Html sitemap is useful for visitors. With help of html sitemap visitors can visit easily to page that what he is looking for.

This is a simple but clear definition of for the question asked. XML sitemap is a pack of links which is meant for the Search engines and to make there job easy and convenient but html is for persons who directly want to see the sub-pages without surfing for the internals links through home page.

 

As per my conception, both are equally important for the search engine optimization.

We can say, XML site map is for SE Crawlers and our Google Webmaster tools like the XML sitemap the most. After submitting the XML sitemap, your page has been indexed faster by the Google Crawler. This type of site map can help to get indexed your deep / inner pages more faster.

While coming to HTML sitemap, it has also some importance in the world of SEO, this type of sitemaps are for USERS. As you can create HTML maps manually if you have basic knowledge of HTML. The user can get all the links, manually checked in this type of sitemap. You can say HTML sitemap as a Static sitemap.
