For the latest information about the algorithm changes you need to subscribe to the Google webmaster central blog and Google webmaster Youtube channel.

Truth be told...you will never find out the true algorithm. Google will release information about bits and pieces of it and you will find bits and pieces from webmasters and from trial and error. However, by the time you really think you have it nailed down....they will change it again!

That is what makes SEO such a challenge! Best of luck and keep digging at it!

Impossible. Google's algorithm makes Google what it is today. How can you expect them to reveal that? All SEO blogs that claim to provide actual algorithm updates are probably mere possibilities. Not that they are wrong, but rather they are highly limited.

What are you talking about? There's a lot of information about Google algorithms on official sources. They even have videos and an extensive support forum.

well you can read it at google`s official blog, but they will not tell you everything, so it is a good idea to search for in on the web to see what problems other webmaster have had with these changes, most of them even share the way they deal with it.

Most of the time, Google provides enough information. If it doesn't answer your question specifically, maybe you need to look at things differently. Can you cite an example where Google's information about its algorithm update is unclear?

They don't show the exact formula, but most of the time they provide enough information that if you follow them and white hat methods, you will safely move up in rankings without fear of the next update messing everything up.

Exactly. Matt Cutts may not give all the details, but he says what's happening roughly and that's enough as long as you follow the rules.
