White hat just means building proper backlinks without using any illegal or mass software.. Black hat just means using a mass commenter or any software to get the backlinks..
White hat are ethical ways to optimize sites on the further hand and black hat are unethical way to obtain optimize your site in search engine. White hat seo is beneficial for your site visitor and as well as traffic. Black hat technique are proposed to lead on search engines into providing pages higher positions in search results, and also it’s have no benefit to site visitors.
I agree with shophia here, Blackhat & Whitehat are just not tied up with software usage, they're a set of techniques and from what I have heard, Google penalizes sites only if their On-Page SEO techniques are shady because if they start penalizing sites for their off-page methods which largely consists of link building then this would give our competitors a big chance to put our site in their Xrumer software and blast thousands of links and get us sandboxed. With SEO, you need to be very patient, just keep building links steadily and keep mixing up links (don't get all of your links from one source) you'll be gradually seeing an increase in your rankings.
First of all White hats SEo is good. Don't try for Black hats seo !! Black Hat SEO is basically an unethical methods used for website to rank higher on search engines. Where as the techniques that used by following google guidelines and without breaking the rules is callled white hats SEo. Or you can say the ethical techniques used for website is called white hat.
To me all SEO is Blackhat, but there are different shades of black. A lighter shade of black is to write a unique article and submit it to an article directory or two with a few links back to your target web pages. The darker shade of black would be using software like Scrapebox to create 100000 blog comments a day automatically.
SEO is not only about backlinking... Its more than that. As far as legit and illegitimate practices are concerned, the list is very long. Legitimate practices includes everything which is accepted by search engines. Whereas black hat practices are not accepted by search engines and you may get banned for employing these techniques on your website.
Blackhat and Whitehat SEO are similar, very similar, the only differene to me between the both is the word black and white, I participate in both blackhat and white hat forums, The thing is blackhat people cannot really afford all the products that the whitehat people are using, think about it for a second, how many whitehat folks do you know now that do not use any type of automation tools? We are all doing and aiming for the same goal, however just because they say they are whitehat does not mean they are. Blackhat is legal if done right sure I consider myself blackhat and have never used a blackhat method to rank and monetise my sites. I use the same methods that "whitehat" users do. Content locking, sort of blackhat no? your forcing people to interact with you in order to get their details so they can view the remaining content which may or may not be the information they need. This is only my 2 cents and altough blackhat is considered illegal, it's not always the case, you would be pleasantly surprised infact I know hundreds of blackhat folks running a whitehat business, my point is NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. just using a software doesn't make it blackhat. there are lots of tools out there that you can run and still build whitehat links. all depends on which tool you use for what. even a blackhat tool can also be used in a way that can deliver links just as you would get them manually
Your so, so wrong. You can use BH methods to build "proper backlinks", the software BH marketers use isn't illegal, also BH doesn't mean "using mass commentor or any software to get the links"..
well i'm not really sure where "using mas commentor" would fall (black white or white hat), but it definitely exists and is employed throughout communities of webmasters.
I am against using automatic commentators as that ruins sites for a lot of us who want to earn their links rather than spam blogs so we can count them in but I highly doubt that mass commentating softwares would get anyone penalized because if that would have been the case, Xrumer would have been dead by now. It's more your on-page SEO techniques that matter more especially after Google Panda.
I would suggest never use mass blog commenting on your main site instead use them as 2nd tier links and use them for backlinking to your web2.0 properties, articles, wikis, bookmarks etc

White Hat is building natural organic on and off page SEO, from coding, meta, titles etc. the links are not the spammy kind like you can buy from fiverr and some webmaster forums. Black hat is usually xrumer, senuke or other harvested or un-natural building, it also includes spammed keywords, duplicate copied content. Grey hat is in-between this, using a bit of both the above to try an manipulate Google. Google has wised up with panda to a lot of the bad practices now.
I partially agree, White hat folks also use these forum like fiverr, Blackhat ways of creating links, meta tags, coding etc are the same but they do them quicker and faster and use automation to help the process just like whitehat folks, anyone in here denies this your lying to yourself or your stuck in a bubble somewhere far away.
