    I don't want to sound rude but does it make any sense showing historical index while selling the domains? I lately see this a lot in dp! Yet another matter of confusion to buyers. Please don't take it otherwise. I just wanted to spread a message.

    I had the same confusion and raised this query to Majestic SEO team. Here is the answer I got from them. Hope this gives you an idea.

    Fresh Index: Our crawler indexes websites in the internet and tries to extract backlinks data into our system. However web is too large at the moment for us to index everything in short period of time. Hence we demarked something called Fresh Index where we will list last 30 days crawled backlinks data. As you can understand we don't crawl the entire web in 30 days and hence this is just partial backlink value of any domain.

    Historic Index: Our historic index is a more comprehensive index that has almost every backlink data for a domain. However there are still domains and websites our crawler miss to crawl for various reasons. We update our database for every 30 days and Historic index is the more accurate data.

    To answer your question, ask your customers to see Historic index data while valuating a domain. However they should also see Deleted links for their reference.

    However on any day this is better than a no backlink PR 3 right?

    of course, i've check yr domain. have some pr1 and pr2 backlinks.of course more good from nothing.
