    hmm.. there are a lot of regional search engines, which are interesting themselves (as yandex in Russia), and there are also a lot of topical search engines, as FileTram or FilesTube which are file storage search engines.

    Yes there are several types of search engines but If you go to Google and see the search categories, you can find how many types of search engines are there. like video, pictures, music, books..etc.

    If you consider the PPC advertising, there will be adwords, adcenter and YPN

    There are thousands of search engines in the world. It's not possible to try with all of them. It is even not possible to try for major 100. For business, it's better to target top 3 and develop planning for that.
