Niether are very important, but I guess out of the two, PR is more so. The best quick way of seeing the strength of a site is with MOZ metrics, "PA" and "DA"
Both the PR and Alexa Is import for any website because both having is Owen requirement for any website like PAGE RANK tell about the quality for the website and the strength of website into the search Engine... ALEXA tell about the accesses of site for were the traffic is come for the website and it also tells per day hits graph for any site
Both, Alexa and Page rank has importance in SEO. Page rank indicates how much you do work on your site while Alexa shows the traffic on your site))))))))
From traffic point of view, Alexa is more important as it directly relates to it. The more the traffic, better the chances to earn money.
Get the relevant and high PR links to increase the PR while keep optimizing the content for better alexa.
I personally don't much care about PR of my website, for me important is how many visitors I am able to drive to my website. No visitors, no sales, doesn't matter what PR my site is.
No matter what is the Alexa Rank. It's just an approximate measurement by a third party company (Amazon). And obviously PR (page rank) is very important one that we should concentrate on.
