Great post, thank you. One point I’d like to pick up on:

“Being different from your friends and being successful is alien to you.”

This is a hugely important point; most people who struggle (and I speak from experience!) do so because they just don’t know what it feels like to win, to succeed. As you say, it’s an experience that’s alien to them. I think perhaps the biggest challenge in creating a successful life (whatever that means to you) is getting to that place where succeeding feels natural to you.

I’ve found the Sedona Method (AKA The Release Technique) an invaluable tool for dissolving the thoughts and feelings that get in the way of forward progress (in any area of life). You can learn it for free, too - there are plenty videos about it on you tube.

Focusing on too many things at once definitely results in disappointment. Good points :)

So true - Being different or having the courage to be different is such a big factor. I remember be a follower, always hanging around doing what other people did until I found it didn't make me happy. When I learned ti be myself, be comfortable working hard and not always following the crowd that I began to make a name for myself. Very interesting addition to my list.

Thanks for all the nice comments folks, always nice to know your work is appreciated.

Great post. Persistance and definitely when you decide to do one thing, do it properly and forget about other ideas until you prove it is going to work or not. This is where a mentor can be handy, helps the focus and not going off looking at something else. Yes sometimes the thing your doing might not be the right thing for you but internet marketing is such a big field you are sure to find something that you enjoy doing. Also satisfaction comes into it, if you dont like what you are doing there is no why you will succeed.

    I suggest the following:

    1) Don`t make wildly optimistic sales forecast
    2) Don`t hire people who like your ideas all the time
    3) Don`t focus too much on the competition
    4) Don`t waste time caring what others think
    5) Don`t waste mix business with pleasure
    6) Be quick to fire and slow to hire
    7) Don`t put your company before your people
    8) Don`t under-forecast cash needs
    9) Don`t try to do too much all at once.
    10) Never write something you wouldn't want to come back to you

I definitely agree with the lazy part because many people just don't have the inspiration and drive to get things done (including me). Good point there.

Apart from needing a mentor I totally agree with this. Great share. Why would you need a mentor that only draws you back and cheats you of your hard earned money? Do it yourself or find people to partner with, but don't pay for a scam artist mentor to rob you (unfortunately there aren't too many honest people nowadays, that's why I can't trust these so called "gurus" and "mentors".)

Nice list. Agree with all of them. But I think the first one of the most important points - don't listen to people who are telling you can't do something, just go out and do it. More often than not you'll discover it can be done.

If you know how to do it, you will be on the right track of online marketing and see the result in short term.

Thanks for the ageless write up! The dates may be 2 years ago but the wisdom is still fresh and green. Do share more of such and remember the post about "Banishing Laziness..." I believe it could be beneficial as well.
    Keep 'em up!
