    seems to work well, I've got a new site that's climbing up and I've mostly been using blog commenting for links.

    Its good like anything else if you use them correctly. Start with manual blog commenting so you can get a taste for how they work. But yeah its effective, if it wasn't effective no one would use it ;)

    Blog comments are OK but too many people just spam the blogs, so search engines got it and give less wait to them.
    Overall, blog comments are just spam as the only reason you comment is too leave a link to your website... next time you comment on blogs please skip my blogs.

    Blog commenting is in fact flagged as spam by most blog owners and search engines, so if the ultimate goal is spread links, this is not a good option unless the link and the comment is relevant to the blog in question.

    Well, if you add a valuable comment, then readers of the blog might be more interested in checking your links out. If you're thinking about blog commenting as a way to build links to boost your SERP rankings, I'd say ​no.

    I'd have to disagree. I'm not sure if there's an easier alternative to creating PR1+ dofollow baclinks. Approval rates are usually pretty decent if you're leaving QUALITY comments.

    I think that's the key. There's a massive difference between careful manual blog commenting on high PR, low OBL pages and getting a huge list of overly spammed blogs and blasting your site out. I think the latter is more likely to do damage than good.

    Blog commenting is a good way to generate traffic and backlinks for your site. Just don't make your comment a commercial type. Blogs are moderated by its owner, they have the right if they gonna approve your comment or not.

    Blog commenting is basically of two types.

    First, auto approve blogs where all comments are approved instantly without any checking the content and subject of the comment.
    Secondly, the blogs who approve the comment (having some useful and topic related matter) after moderator check.

    All moderator check blogs with low alexa and unique real traffic are useful and give better results (give strong backlink) for comments posting.

    Agreed. Though I'll still use AA lists on my lower tier backlinks. But when I'm pointing comments directly at my main site I'll make sure that they're quality comments on moderated, dofollow blogs.
