Is there any tips for getting your images onto Google Images? Are there any articles about this?

is it good in any way to be listed in google images?

my retail sites images get hit a few times a day. I suppose if they post a link to the image it would give me a back-link but more than likely they are going to just save the image.

I personally think it kinda sux cause they just look at the picture but don't have to look at my shopping cart whatsoever

I've done it with alt tags, which I generate from the caption using PHP. The traffic I get from them is pretty good, but pictures are some of my main content.

Google Webmaster Tools has an option to "opt in" to Enhanced Image Search (on the Diagnostic tab). Can't hurt to enable that as well. I haven't seen a big uptick since I did, but my site is not graphic heavy and I still need to go back and add all of my alt tags...

    (1) Name image files accurately
    (2) Put a link to the image directory somewhere on your page
    (3) Use ALT tags for all the images you put on your website
