I use arcades and that's where people hang out a bunch. The trouble is that Adsense, in my experience, doesn't do well with embedded flash arcades b/c there is little content on those pages. Does anyone have any ideas how to better monetize high traffic, low content pages?
Does everyone want adsense? There are tons of good affiliate programs, other contextual ad programs, etc that will do so much better on certain niched sites. Like arcade game sites...find good affiliate products, ad networks that are almost specific to game sites, stuff like that. This is where you learn to use google search!
That was the point of my question. I was looking for alternatives. I will definitely look into more appropriate affiliates.
I would look into sponsorships. (Each page sponsored by one advertiser) The "sticky" appeal of your site (and traffic) makes for eyeballs that are *glued* to the screen. A great opportunity for an advertiser in my opinion. We've gotten so used to PPC being the "new (not so new) big thing" on the internet, we've forgotten that the old ways can still work--and in some cases work better.
Right Roxyyo. You should try and find affiliate programs that offer complementing products with nice looking banner ads that you can place throughout your site to draw attention to them easy and also that will make your visitors want to visit them. Also sell space to other relevant sites that do not compete directly. You could sell ad space to gaming forums, review sites and so on. Arcades can make alot of money if you think about what your audience is allready looking for. Also visit some other arcades and see what they are doing and see if you could make it work for yours.
Try monetizing with CPA. You'll get $30 for each conversion, or somewhere close to that if yo choose the right CPA network.
Since arcade sites tend to attract a younger demographic with a limited buying power, I would stay off of affiliate banners completely. I'd rather go with a CPA offer for a free iPhone or something similar...
Why do you even want adsense? Try using chitika + clickbank. That being said, if you have a dedicated interested readership, then go, spend some money on programming and build a members system where people can become a member for $4/month and get access to premium flash games, and a score board where they compete with each other, and heck through in a forum for them too discuss on. Then advertise this around your website. Hope you enjoyed
