Hi i have plans to buy allot of articles and in them have a couple of links to my websites.
But what is the best way to use my articles?

Shall i use them on my 1 month old Wordpress blogs with no PR or is it better to submit my articles to articles directories?

I spend around $3-$5 on each article so i want the best out of them.

Booth are effective when you post article on your blog you will get traffic and Google will fall in love with your blog, same time when you will post article to article they will love you Google will love you and you will get back link from that directory. So do it mixed 4:1 ratio.

A mix is good but before you do this, is your old blog indexed by Google? Do you update it regularly? Does it's content unique. If yes than do a mix otherwise just put it all to article directory as I don't think 1 low quality blog will help.

If they are very high quality content, I would probably place most of it on my own personal site. I would go with rewritten content or some of the stuff that doens't have the best grammar (Indian writers perhaps?) for article marketing. Most of the article directories are losing their authority with Google and most of it is really for the backlinks, not so much sending you traffic these days. This is at least my observation. You don't see as many ezinearticles up towards the top of Google search results as you used to.

First post the article on your sites blog and check the google analytic report for that. Check the articles for which you are getting maximum views and make them sticky on your homepage.

Next thing for the article for which you are not getting good visitor post that article on article directories, with links embedded in it.

Why not do both? It's always better to have your articles indexed on your site first. The last thing you want is for the article directory copy to appear higher in search engines than the copy you've published on your blog when people run a search for your main keywords. Even if your article gets 10000 views, you'll lose a big portion of this traffic depending on the click trough rate.

If they get to your site first, but don't like your articles, they may see something that peaks their interest and stay. However, if they find your article trough a directory first, you won't get that chance...

I have to agree on this...

Also, it can be good solution to publish some of your articles on your blog and the rest of them on some article directories. Don't publish all articles right away, instead publish 1-2 articles per day and share every article you publish on social bookmarking sites etc.
