Differences between Google Trends and Google Insights

Hi Friends,

Last week, I went to face an interview in a company where Interviewer asked this question "The Differences between Google Trends and Google Insights".

Although, I am using the both tools from longer, But, I could not speak the right answer.

Please help me with right answers so that next i do not face any problem replying this questions.

Google treands will show what are the hot searches at the moment.
Insight for search shows what people are searching on google for a given country in a specific time frame

I use Google Trends to get an overview on a specific market and then I use Google Insights to research deeply and find the interest for a keyword in a specific country/time frime (like vertexplus said).

 

Google trends show some how calculated number of visits to websites. Google Insights show the amount of searches on particular keyword.

 

Google trends is more on a particular keyword search while the google insight is more on the history of a keyword where you can check the traffic's location and volume.

 

doesn't the name suggest what it is? google Trends show what's trending and if you want more insight on the keywords/terms then you go to.. google Insight.

 

Google Trends - it reveals the hottest topics/search items on a given time (think about Twitter trending topics - it's like that)
Google Insights - it shows which location you get most of your sites traffic on a given time (think about Google Analytics' traffic sources - works like that)

 

While Google Insights for Search and Google Trends use the same data,Insights for Search is geared towards users (such as researchers or advertisers) who may find some of its advanced features more useful for their purposes.

 

Everyone is thinking right. Trend is a broader view to make an idea or thinking on a particular category, keyword or topic while an insight is the deep analysis and finding to better plan and action.

Google trends tell us what's happening around in searches and Google insights help us in making strong decisions with facts and figures.

Google trend is a web facility, that shows how often a particular keyword is searched.It is for comparing keywords.
Google Insights gives people access to what people are searching on Google.It also gives geography based search results.

 

Google trend shows the hot results in the time day but Google insight shows result in a specific country based results.

Google trends provides you refine searches , and insights provides you search regarding country , state ,city wise information mainly Geo based searches .

Unlike Google Trends, Google Insights for Search provides a visual representation of regional interest on a country's map. It displays top searches and rising searches that may help with keyword research
