Honestly? Its bad practice to only use one technique. It's better to have a healthy mix of everything, as well as no follow and do follow back links.

long term traffic: great content + link building

 

Usually you're best off by diversifying your link building activities. I suggest you all of them. Why? Whenever a major Google dance comes along and strikes at one of these methods, you'll be safe because you'll have developed lots of different kind of links as well. Hope that helps,

I can't agree with you the best technology is backlinking. Because i do always use this technique for my sites in any niches, including pharmacy, free stuff and money making with my own list of only about 2000 auto approved, do follow, PR 0 to 6 blogs to have good rankings. Usually it takes me up to month or more to have a results.

As your question was which method can bring more traffic, then I would say social network, though if you want to improve your rankings for your website, choose a mix of all that.

 

Definitely diversify your link building, but the whole thing starts with good content and good on page SEO (why not - it's free?).

Submit to Article directories and create social networks which will point/link to your main target URL and then get forum posts/forum profiles/social bookmarks/blog commets to those Article and social network ? For me that still works.

Make sure not to get into shortcuts, do it but do it right.
