Does Google count links in PDF files as incoming links or not?

A question that recently came up was this:

If an incoming link to a site is listed in the footer of an ebook and is in a PDF doc, is that link read as an incoming link with Google?

Yes. Google does count links in PDF files as incoming links.

Yes, Google does count backlinks from PDF files... They are like backlink from any other source (as long they are relevant to your website)

As far as footer links are concerned, they are not enough valuable for a website.

Well yes they seem to be counted but there is usually one small problem with getting links from PDF books and documents and that is unlike most stable web pages coming in HTML format, since PDF files are considered to be portable items over the net, moving from one folder to another one and they usually are not linked to from many sources, so such types of links are in some cases a bit too weak and even barely accessed and found.

If you take a quick look at standard formulas and methods used by reputable web marketing agencies and experts who have been working in SEO field for several years, you will notice that for them, getting links from PDF documents may not seem like a priority. Links inside PDF books might be compared with those inside Flash artworks, although getting crawled and accessed by search engines like Google, but they may not be ultimate solutions.

 

yes ofcourse google index the pdf file and give the backlink,,but make sure plz use fresh content & keep keywords density in your favor..

 

But I don't think Google bot will crawl pdf.

 

Google Bot Crawls everything, as PDF's can be browsed online and Google display [PDF] for pdf search results..

 

Yes, PDF files get indexed and the files obtain PR just like normal pages.
