Which website is best for SEO?

XHTML CSS websites, Flash websites, PHP, ASP, and others. Which websites are great for SEO?

I know that XHTML CSS are the best for SEO. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

I don't agree with others who are telling the website is not important, the content is important. The website (the code style of webpages) are also important.

    What do you think?

It's all about 'load time'. Flash = not so great. xhtml, CSS, php, those should all be pretty good.

Put Flash aside 'cause it doesn't even fit in discussions about SEO.

    Regarding the rest:
ASP and PHP have nothing to be compared to XHTML CSS cause they are both server-side programming languages vs a client-side language. The result of an ASP/PHP page can be anything, even XHTML.

Your server-side programming language is totally hidden from search engines and what they see is the result page which has nothing to do with what is going on in the background.

Clean and valid code. and by valid I don't mean w3 validated 'cause search engines mostly don't care.

Actually all you've mention are great approach for seo, the bottom line is it depends on how you optimize your site, but in my experience XHTML CSS websites are more likely one of the great approach in Optimizing a site. It is much faster to crawl and many webmaster will be able to help you , there are many samples in the internet:D...good luck.

Really it has nothing to do with ASP, PHP even XHTML.

SEO is about things like having a valid title tag with your keyword phrase in it and things like that. Any of those environments can be great for SEO.

But since Google has publicly mentioned they take loading time of a page into consideration (to at least some degree) then some are quicker than others and it might help you to use the most efficient environment that renders the screen the quickest.

Most likely XHTML/CSS is the best because unlike PHP, and ASP, etc there is no server side processing, it just gets executed by the browser immediately (ASP and PHP get processed by the server and "turned into" html).

So if you are speed concious consider XHTML/CSS - But these days a PHP or ASP enviromment is still going to be very fast and unless you have a tremendous amount of server side processing probably is not going to make a big difference.

    Cheers

    Tim
