Can a PHP freelancer earn $1500 or more a month?

Can a PHP freelancer make $1500 income or more a month when working 40 hours a week? Is the work enough to support 40 working hours every week? I am trying to make a decision about the way I am going to take.

I will appreciate answers from people who have experience on PHP freelancing. Thank you.

 

I spent many years freelancing and after building yourself a nice code library you can easily surpass $1500 a week if your good. However in this day and age its not enough to just be a PHP freelancer.

You will need to know JavaScript as well a a library such as jQuery, knowledge of several database types.

In terms of software its very helpful to know popular software such as Wordpress and Joomla as there is a lot of mod building work out there.

In addition knowing API's for "social" sites is usually very helpful.
