Yeah, we're going after some .gov links and are doing product giveaways for mil links. Its hard with an e-commerce site to get real good onsite so hopefully we can make up for it with a solid back link profile.

How many links can you build in a month? On average...

 

How many CAN you, or how many SHOULD you?

If your domain is relatively aged, 6 months is safe, 1000 links a month is good.

If it's brand new, 10 a week.

It is important to remember that having backlinks is not enough. Search engines such as Google, are looking for links that point to your site that are of quality i.e. add value to the user.

If I write a blog post about a topic, and link to your site which is totally unrelated, then you may not get any benefit from the link. Likewise, if CNN does the same thing, you will get greater credit from CNN because it has a higher "reputation" than my blog in Google's eyes.

 

Always choose quality over quantity. Most often beginners mistake.

Well Bookmarking is effective, but you had to do some SB link exchange then it will be far more better and useful. Try to find some sites where you can submit your products like the alibaba(dot) com. Thank You

socialadr.com is a good bookmarking site for backlinks. automated system. other than that just keep plugging away at article marketing, contacting blogs, forum profiles, etc.
