Daily routines of a successful internet marketer?

    Hi Guys,

I have been working as an internet marketer as a hobby for a few years but recently I have made the move to full time. With this change I have had to battle finding a work routine that is a success. It's still a work in progress.

I guess what I am talking about here is a list of daily tasks you complete to grow your business steadily.

To get the ball rolling, here is what I am trying to do each day.

    • Add fresh new quality content to my main 4 websites - this takes quite a lot of time on it's own
    • Browse forums for new ideas/techniques
    • Add content/update/fix some of my smaller sites
    • Depending on the day I will organize SEO/link building for sites
    • Look for new niches

What I hope to incorporate into my daily routines
    • Joining and posting on forums with my link in my signature
    • Submit at least one new article to ezine per day with a link back to one of my sites
    • Find some other simple methods of gaining a backlink or two per day
    • Make more videos (still new to this area)

So what do you do each day? Do you make a video? Write an article? Get backlinks? I think most of us can agree that success in this business relies on persistence so I think finding a working routine is vital

I'd love to bounce some ideas about getting a few easy links daily as part of a routine!

Hey Timby, wish you all the best!

Finding a routine and sticking will definitely have a lot to do with your success! I have also recently made the switch and here is what I have committed to on a daily basis:

    - Creating at least one article per day (on ezinearticles you can actually create challenges and one of them is create content every day for a year and so far I have stuck to it)
    - post 2 comments on forums each day
    - find 1 profitable niche and 3 high traffic/low competition keywords

steadily I see my income increase. Keep at it!

    Hi Timby,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Actually I am trying to do something like you since october 2011. I was a really beginner in blogging and I still work on learning the good techniques to apply. I have 2 websites and I try to write fresh content at least 2 times per week. For me, writing every day is not possible because it takes me a lot of hours. I am not very used to it and I work on developing my skills on writing.
I also try to build some links for my sites but I basically do it by my own self. I don't outsource the task. So I try to post comments in blogs (5 per day) and to forums as well (with the signature as you mention). The process is slow and time consuming. Ezine and videos are in my future goals but I haven't tried at all for the moment. Finally I read blogs and forums and watch video and webminars to learn more about this industry!
I don't have income from my sites for the moment but I insist. As you say, persistence is the key to success.

Hey tevag thats great, even if it takes you a few hours to write new content stick with it - in the end it will pay off. Consistency pays off in the end!

daily routines is good for internet marketer to behave that way . It can be said of hardwork while you do the same thing routines and routines day by day.
But sometime i feel that it minor down our creativity and stop our mind to think something special.
Using the same marketing methods unable to survive for long run, we need to keep update ourselves time to time.

Thanks for your input so far guys! I defiantly agree that browsing the net/checking stats etc. should be kept to a minimum as it doesn't actually make you money. I check once a day usually and that's only one or two of my earning networks.

You raise a great point too JerrickYeoh! It is a delicate balance between hard work and giving yourself time to be creative. I think this is one of the best things about being an online marketer though. To be honest the more I work the more ideas I have, this is half my trouble too, I keep getting distracted with new ideas. I'm hoping I can get a good routine that allows me to cover off the hard work that I know will yield results long term and then still leave time to get a little bit crazy with ideas.

I'd love to hear the details of what you guys actually do too!

That is a good list. You also need to be commenting in blogs. Try to get high PR sites to comment to.

My daily content is updated by the visitors, so no work there involved.

In the morning, afternoon and sometimes evening:

    1. Post on craigslist.
    2. Post on backpage.

On a rare occasion post on FB or TW.

That's my schedule day in and day out.

On top of what's listed, I'd say check webmaster/analytics weekly to monitor effectiveness and post your updates to twitter/facebook.

I don't really have a daily routine. Generally I try to do content once a week or so for my websites. I do enough to schedule postings scattered throughout, maybe once every couple of days or so.

I think it depends greatly on the niche you are in. I have one community site where it really requires a lot of traffic to be successful at all. I spend quite a bit of time developing and harnessing relationships in that niche. Without it, it would be difficult to see growth. So, I think you have to use logic here and there is no ABC's to being successful. You have to go find where your potential traffic is hanging out, go there, and drag them to your website. If there are popular forums in your niche, I would encourage you to get started there.

Sometimes, your niche is unique enough that there really aren't forums and there isn't really a need for one. In that event, SEO is sometimes your best bet. Spend time developing links using various link building methods (web 2.0's pointing back to your site, article directories, etc.). I have even spent some time offering my services as a writer to do guest blog posting on certain websites to help increase the amount of links I have.

It's actually very useful to lay out a plan and stick to it.

I, myself, am using a weekly routine not a daily routine. One day writing content for my site, the other day writing for ezine, the next day creating a new video, forum posting, linkbuilding and so on....

    Hey Timby,

This is what I tend to do on a daily basis:

First I do all my money making tasks first so...

    1) Update my blog.
    2) Email my list with blog update.
    3) Post blog update to facebook page.
    4) Convert my blog post to a pdf.
    5) Syndicate my post to document sites.

    That's my minimum daily routine....

    Hope this helps someone.

    Kind regards

    Chris

Generally things that would increase your pr or traffic would be the best, but thats not cut and dry. Improving the look of your site or even how smoothly it runs can all increase your traffic. Mainly I'd just stick with always trying to increase banklinks(there are places you can go to pay to have backlinks made for you) and making sure the site is up to date with your niche or margin. That means making sure you know what people want, when they want it, and how they want it. The better your site is suited to its audiance, the more people will flock to it. Also, keeping it updated with content is important. You don't have to work yourself to death by making sure you add the best content daily, but just updating it regularly and often will do enough to keep people interested.

Some excellent ideas here guys! I like the idea of breaking each day into different tasks such as writing for your own sites on Monday, writing for ezine Tuesday etc.

Looks like a couple of "must do" things to add to the list:

    Making comments on blogs
Possibly make some offers to others to guest post
Finding relevant niche forums and post with a link in your signature

This sounds great, what document sites do you use? I'd love a list of these!

If you surf around IM forums you might benefit more that doing a random task which you may even be able to outsource.
