I want to make my site an e-commerce portal

Hello Every one

I have a website in the name of www.regalindiahandicrafts.com.

Its been live for almost a year and now I want to facilitate people to buy my products online.
I am not able to get.. Although people visit my site but i hardly get any query regarding my products.
What can i do to ensure people that my site is genuine and all purchased items would be delivered on time..
I even want to comfort my users by refunding the amount in case the product is not delivered due to some reason or they are satisfied with the quality.

Please advise

 

You want to start eCommerce Portal for handicrafts.
-> First of all you have to make eCommerce website. you can use osCommerce for that.
-> choose right keyword for your product and promote it.
--> Make Portal SEO Friendly.
At starting you can use google adwords for push.

I personally dont like oscommerce, you can try www.onlineshops.pk . they provide full ecommerce website including setup, installation,domain,hosting & guide you about keywords related to your products..All this features cost your around - $15 / month

 

1. use google to learn something about therms like what is 'landing page'
2. when you fix your site, and received few first orders, then buy some targeted traffic with adWords

 

try looking into nopCommerce. it is awsome.

I think you should try Opencart best for SEO and product/client/affiliate management

 

My advice to you is to understand that as 'must to' not just to try

I am long time in similar business, so look at this example:


If you got daily 30 targeted visitors (from search engine, that come using kwds for products or services that you are selling) and if you are NOT highly optimized pages where they are landing, you may have conversion ratio less than 1%,and knowing your earning per sale you can imagine how much you can make.
On the other side if you have perfect optimized landing page, WITH option to buy directly(that is very important: find payment processor and implement shopping cart, there is huge difference when someone needs to contact you, and when just click 'add to cart' button) you conversion can be for example 10% if you are traffic is really targeted even more. For example, on my general shopping sites, in some sections I have more than 30% conversion rate (not in all sections of products) what means that almost every third visitor buy something and average orders are aprox. $125. When I started that shop, CTR rate was 1-2% avg...

So, here is free advice:
-learn / test how to deal with perfect landing page(s)
-implement shopping cart
-test some time,and IF EVERYTHING works then
-promote your site to raise the traffic(SEO)
-buy highly targeted traffic using adWords

Before you start, make calculation that depends of your product costs/earnings to have idea how much you would pay for particular word, and just don't stop, success is almost guaranteed.

 

I forgot also to say, that I looked at your site, and I think your products are great. I don't know do you made it or you are just trader, but if you are making this, just to know that I think that those are great products which can be easy sold to US/UK/CA/EU customers.

I don't use such things, but my girlfriend, spend fortune on stuffs like those, I think that women and teenagers just love those stuffs, so that is direction where you need to go: examine a bit what is your targeted group (gender, age,location...)

That is the best detailed information any one can give me. I think only paid advisers can give information like that. This why i consider DP the best place on the net. Your words regarding my products are encouraging and yes I do make these products, it is my family business and i hope to sell lot of them via net.

i will implement your suggestions very soon, request you to check up the site in few days and you see all of your points there- I hope to do that way..

Its still in the designing and testing phase and i will soon add my complete portfolios and then i would start promoting it online through adwords and other things which you have advised..

Now it is June, so how it is going with business, I hope you are selling?
Both your sites are great, and I if I can help you anything more, feel free just to ask.
Also, again small advice:
1) you should do just a little bit SEO on both sites
2) this is some non tech: I was looking on your site http://www.accessory-mall.com, looks great, and I suppose that site is both B2C and B2B so your promo activities should be just like that separeted for 2 various groups of costumers.

 

I think you should try prestashop

 

I personal like the way you have designed and developed the site.

Just go with any shopping cart like osCommerce/Magento/Zencart. These will give you a ready made cart system with a backend to manage all products/orders/customers/etc.

You can easily integrate payment gateways to these platform.

Remember in India you can not offer PayPal as payment option, you can use CCAvenue.
