Does Wordpress allow self serving links in blogs? If yes then how many?

    I had created a blog some time back on wordpress and I had put links to my website in it. However, Wordpress removed the blog saying that violates terms of service. The issue was promotion of website.

    So my question is if wordpress allows self serving links in blogs, then how many links can I put? And what actually should be kept in mind while doing so.

    Did you put links in an aggressive way? If so then Wordpress might have penalized you.

    2-3 links in each blog. How many does WP allow?
