I think it depends on the format. My guess is that a flash drop-down menu would not be a good choice SEO wise, but a regular HTML drop down menu shouldn't cause an issue.

menus are menus, unless its animation. CSS HTML PHP all get crawled the same. Remember, crawlers look at code, visitors see the site you see. If the crawler sees the menu, it'll rank, even if people don't. Look at your site with all scripts off, if everything appears on the front page, or if all of the menu options are laid out on a single page and looks horrible, the crawler will love it as it can report back what was found.

I think flash just needs to stop. No one likes flash except the most professional of professionals who actually know how to use it, and people who like the name...FLASH! Java sounds old. CSS too technical, PHP is programmer nerd stuff, HTML is like the Bible where everyone's heard of it but so few actually read into it

I really liked that one lol.

@wishmaster_dxb, I had a look at the source code of your page, and in my opinion the menus seem quite OK with, and readable by SE's.
Good luck with your new site :)

The forum software shows that the thread was moved to this subforum... did you post it in the SEO review section?

Don'y use JAVASCRIPT drop down menu, it is not SEO friendly. Use CSS/HTML (UL/LI) drop downs

I think drop down menu is not affect on SEO. In SEO optimization, URL structure is very important and HTML extension is easy to promote.

Drop down menus can be SEO friendly, depends what kind of script you are using. For example, if you are using html or css, they are SEO friendly. But if you are using java script or flash, they are not SEO friendly.
