    or you can use php/mysql tutorials as well. i am self taught developer

    First, select an application to work on. It is more effectively to learn programming working on real project. It must be something easy. Then work on it using php.net documentation.

    best thing to do is to download codeigniter and learn it from there, because you are not just learning php, you are learning the framework too.
