Great comment. I have learnt so much from following forums, this one and one other and the help people give you is amazing. Some people can get a bit smart but most genuinely want to help.

Yes, Forum is something that would help promoting your website through linking it to your discussion. Forum is a type of communicating from different genre that shares idea to each other.

It's impossible to have a discussion with the depth and breadth that a forum allows on any social networking site.

Yes, I do! I am still using forums because I find it more effective then other methods in link building though. Aside form blogging, forum posting is easy to use.

For me, forums are very helpful in scoring new clients whereas social media is a beast and requires tremendously more effort.

Forums nowadays are really busy with people interacting with each other & keeping the discussion alive. Forums will never die.

For me there is no kinds of forums which you need to make use of, but find related niche instead. I hope this finds you well.

Forums are still a great way to learn and obtain a multitude of answers that you could not obtain on a social networking platform. Many times there are questions which are asked that anyone could find a response to on Google. But, people still want help from other people. Forums provide a valuable network of varied opinions and information. Interacting with others is still valued more than only reading information.

They still have their place for niche topics. I view Social Networks (especially the popular ones like Facebook and Twitter) to be more General purpose. I think what will die out is General Chat sections of forums and those users using those sections only. However, I visit DP and other forums for niche topics that I am involved in. I visit a gaming forum regularly and visit multiple internet marketing forums regularly because the discussions there are things I'm interested in.

I don't feel my long winded self can enter into conversations in the same way on Facebook or Twitter. I tend to have short responses to things other people post, not necessarily discussions. It's great to get news that is up to date and to hear from certain people you look up to in the industry, but beyond that nope, forums are still going strong! :)

I haven't been posting on forums as much as I used to, but I still find that many hold useful information that is neatly organized in a way that most other sites aren't.

Good quality forums still work, and you can learn a lot by browsing and interacting. Twitter and other social networks are ok for the latest news updates, but I prefer forums for actual discussions.
