    One of the most important debates in SEO is how important PageRank is nowadays and how much it affects the Search Engine Results. Additionally a recent interesting research conducted by SEOmoz suggests that even if PageRank is not the best predictor, it is slightly correlated with Rankings. Although the PageRank is not as important as it was a few years ago.

    When you focus too much on one aspect of your efforts then other mechanisms and means can suffer. The recent research by SEOmoz is an important piece of information to note. There are many many actions you can use to improve your traffic and your site's performance. Keeping an eye on your PR is important but sometimes checking out the side streets can lead to some productive activities as well.

    I assure you that Google Page Rank has just carried out a massive update I noticed that hundreds of igambling / igaming sites have seen their PR fall, while only some enjoyed an increase in their PR. Strangely enough, I noticed that many poor wsites including one-page websites, sites with content completely different from the URL, and sites enjoying inherited Pagerank kept their high PR rankings while other sites, which look much more legitimate, with many pages and decent content, were demoted!

    Nah that's bull shit... back links doesn't mean visibility... back links are the most over rated topic on this forum and I am tired of hearing about it... I don't do any back links and I have taken a site from 1k visits per day to 10k visits per day in less than 80 days... The only back links that count are on your site - to your own content/correct navigation and the links in Google search results... Good content with smart keywords and onsite seo - will kick ass over anything else... you give me the worst site or post with a million back links and I will kick it's ass with a unique (quality) article.

    well said thsadmin. the same thing i am doing with my websites. never thought about backlinks. I've been concentrating on the content and all (on-page seo).

    For pagerank 'lovers' there are big news toda: Page Rank was updated.

    P.S. PageRank is not that important - just one of the 200 ranking factors.But i must say, it's quite nice.

    So far I have seen two sites of mine decrease in PR from 4 to 3 but no change for other sites.
