You can increase traffic by going to google and type in a long tailed keyword instead of a short one, eg keyphrase that is about 4-5 words long instead of 2-3, e.g. 'teach me website traffic' instead of website traffic.

You then want to look for a search volume (this is the figure underneath the keyword) of below 60k-70k. This means that the competition is low and so you stand a better chance in your google rankings.

Google analytics will tell you about the traffic that comes to your site, but not increase the traffic.

As you try different methods of driving traffic, google analytics can tell you which is more effective as there is a section titled traffic sources on the left hand side in the dashboard area
