I think you have tweaked some core wp files, actually you need/should not do that. Whatever you want you can achieve it with your child theme. It would bet better solved if you give the link of the place or you have not mentioned clearly whether it comes with the default "twenty-ten/eleven" theme. If so then try replace your default theme with another fresh one(just copy paste it to overwrite).

Ok, be careful, only you need to override the theme(default).

Just go to "wp-content" folder--->"themes"-->, there you can find "twentyeleven" or "twentyten" folder, just override the theme you are using, its your version is wordpress 3.3, then replace the "twentyeleven". If you change other files of wp(files from the root dir), your wp installation may corrupt.

    Yes, as said above..

In your Wordpress dashboard go to Appearance > Themes and switch back to the basic Wordpress theme that you had when you first installed Wordpress.

Now access your site via your Control Panel or FTP program (e,g, Filezilla - it's free) and go to WPcontent > Themes and delete the broken theme.

Now re-upload theme that you broke from your computer's Desktop, or wherever you saved it to. Or find it again in the Wordpress Codex ( if that's where you got it from) and do a fresh install. Then back to Appearance > Themes and switch to new theme.

    all the best!

I think your theme is not creating any issue, You have some code problem where you mention your FEATURED ARTICLE. To to that part from where you posting new or Featured Articles. Let me work on that i'll try to find this problem.
