I've completely revamped www.hypnosisaudiocds.com to try and give it a more professional look. I'm currently hitting 500+ (peaking at 1200) unique IP hits a day but this isn't converting to as many sales as I would necessarily expect compared to sales I had when I had fewer visitors. Any ideas??

The 'Product List' image disappears after clicking one. (Back now... Anomaly it seems.)

I like the looks but... Whatever action you want punters to take, it doesn't stand out.

Highlight a 'Browse CD's Now' type of button that instantly attracts the eye. It should be clear what you want them to do. The eyes aren't drawn anywhere now...

Adam, mate add a bit of colour to give it some va va voom. Or maybe a few pictures.

I like the overall look/design of the site, but on first impressions there's too much writing and not enough eye catching stuff.

But what do I know

Anything that catches the eyes and demands attention. That's the only thing missing at the mo. Carve them an inevitable path from Homepage to check-out.

When I first landed there I got the impression it was an informational site because of the Newsletter box and the links on the left which appear to be articles yet in fact turn out to be products for sale.

Just a bit more focus on the sales process and I'm sure this will convert.

Thanks for the encouragement... I've amended some colours and the title of the nav bar down the left... can't say it doesn't draw the eye now!! (gulp)

The buy buttons, instead of the right, I would add the to the middle or at the end of product description.

Also clicked on the accelerated learning one. IMHO it was more about learning than about what the cd will deliver to me. Adam, I remember your name from some nlp and hypnosis groups or so. Where is all the NLP persuasion stuff implemented? ;-).

    Why??

Thanks for the feedback... fair comment

I'm a therapist, not a salesperson :) that said, I'm looking at what other people do in that area, and you can expect some major language changes on the site in the next few days :D

    Just don't expect phrases like

To me, it seems like the "buy our ..." menu is just stick in there, no realy reason why it should be there. The text on the pages seem to be an afterthough, squashed between the two sidebars. I might try something like this:

    http://upload.images.filecabin.com/uploads/hypno.gif

Looks a little cleaner, the things you are trying to get people to notice stand out a bit better. Just an idea.

    Hey Adam,

mouseketrips idea looks like the best option for you, two columns instead of three, but I think your text in the center should remain black, it's more professional. Other than that, it looks great.

    Welcome mousketrips, nice first post.

    Right MELLA's ideas;

    Make the background Bright pink.

    Make all text silvery grey.

Make sure there is a ration of 4:1 for pictures:words

Have some music playing in the background.

Hmm Better yet, have some hypnotis going on in the background ''You are feeling sleepy....very very sleepy..3..2..1...and your under..everytime you read the word hello..you will purchase one of my CD's'

But cool, you made the word imagine stand out a bit more..it looks good. (but the pink would be better)

Thanks for the welcome. I was thinking black, but was too lazy to change it after I made it blue. Nice idea for a site though.

Hey Collen... didn't recognise you with the 5 o'clock shadow :)

Hi, how's the web's sexiest web designer doing?

problem with lining stuff up in two columns as mouseketrip suggests is that the left column would become inordinately long... the catalog list is going to grow (considerably) over time, and though I can decrease the line spacing as I go, there is a limit to how much I want to do that.

    LOL :)

I actually have the domain name www.shophypnosis.com under wraps... I was thinking of doing something more like that with that one ... all the mysterious and camp "Look into my eyes" sort of stuff... but forgive me if I drop the pink

too many links..too much text and its a bit fractured.
you need to get people to your products asap...without reading too much.
i liked your old homepage..with all your products on it.

leave it as it is...but add a link to 'products' at the top of your links list...
and link it to 1 page, with all your products on.

the other links are ok for more specific searchers.
