I myself wrote something about reputation a while back as well, but not in that organized fashion.

A great FAQ, good thing that its made a sticky, this should put stop to the YARTs (Yet Another Reputation Thread - Thanx to yfs1 ).

I was thanking yfs1 for the term YART, he created it.

 

I invented YAPT anyway

 

Infact YART was created by a user called SoapBath.

I always thought yfs1 invented that term.

Yeah SUmitBahl, from what I can tell the first post ever saying the word was by soapbath in which Yfs1 said "What the hell is a yart"

 

I think this is to be added to the thread :

How reputation points are affected when someone give you a rep?

• You can alter other people's reputation by 1 point by default
• For every 365 days after you register, your altering power increases by 1 point
• For every 1,000 posts, your altering power also increases by 1 point
• For every 100 reputation points you have, your altering power increases by 1 point

• User must have at least 50 posts before they can affect other's reputation
• You must have a reputation of 10 points or higher to be able to affect others (it's 10 by default)
• You can alter up to 10 user's reputations per day
• You must alter different user's reputations before you can alter the same user's again

 

The above information also useful and required. So all required information can be found on one thread. Also about Infraction Sizzler Chetan made some nice FAQs here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=175917 . Read and keep yourself away from infraction.

 

And i also did it because i think Infractions are more dangerous than red reps as Infractions can lead to a BAN

 

Ugh, I hate when I get red reputation for nothing. People seem to hate me or are just idiots.

 

Great topic thank you, answered all of my questions by.. I was prettty sure as I went along i was still not going to know why some greenies had their lights on,... but even that popped up there YAY! TY TY (Gave a green for that lil bitta info )

What can I do if I get a red reputation saying that I am Idiot when I have done nothing wrong or said nothing not demostrated?

 

Just ignore it never make a thread about it as you will get more reds through that thread
