***What is the proper way to write links?***

When doing link building what is the proper way to write your url that your building the links for?

www.sample.com
http://sample.com
http://www.sample.com
http://www.sample.com/

Or does it even matter? If you create links have the urls all different with the 4 different styles above will
you still get link juice?

It does matter. you should submit your link either of these two depending on your site
http://www.sample.com
http://sample.com

when you open your site in browser it will show either of above two. You should submit that link

 

When i use firefox it shows as www...... when I use IE it shows as http://www..... My site is www.dumpsterrentaldisposalbins.com.

The proper way to build links is to write them in this format:

The browsers show URLs according to their own settings. It does not make difference.

However, if you are using WordPress, you need to make sure that in General Settings your Website address is mentioned along with www. However, if you have an old website, changing it might affect your rankings.

You should also check in Google Webmaster tools and there in settings select your preferred format to show in search. Keep the url consistent everywhere i.e. WorPress settings, Google Webmaster Tools, and Backlinks.

No need to add the ending slash.

The proper way to write the link is using the Forum Posting. Because the forum posting is the off line discussion board through which people can use to solve their query. So that link you have posted on the forum can be easily rolled up in the Google.
