The US are severely tarnishing their reputation right now to the benefit of only two dozen rich bastards that are lobbying those in power for these sweeping changes. You have to laugh at the idea that somebody accused of copyright infringement can face 55 years in prison yet you can abuse a child and the maxiumum penalty is 7. It's because money talks and it's terrifying that this fact isn't being explored in mainstream media, but i'm not surprised. I was going to travel to New York and California this year but I don't really know now. It is a nice place but the power struggles there are so embarrassingly scary to watch. It's like Hollywood has decided to make a real life drama this time. The United States has so much debt, unemployment, immigration and social issues going on and apparently the only important thing to make police time for is copyright infringement. In a double dip recession where movie studios have made obscene amounts of profits it's the only important thing to make time for. Right. It hasn't even been proven that piracy even reduces profits of the corporations and yet all of this continues to happen no matter which innocent parties are hurt in the process.

The FBI and police apparently spent a year working with New Zealand police on this MegaUpload case, wasting the time of international enforcement agencies as well as public taxpayer funds. It's grotesquely abusive and marks the first time in my twenty fives years on this planet that i've actually believed the legal system itself is irreversably corrupt. I used to think it was other people complaining for no proper reasons but I can see it in operation clear as day. All of this at a time when most people don't believe what the MPAA is telling them will definitely have long lasting negative effects for them.

 

exactly.. filepost is not the same as filesonic or fileserve. they heavily promoted their site and encouraged users to upload to them without caring about what they upload. copyright infringers were not banned at any time and they were aware of the fact that most people were uploading warez and did nothing. Fileserve and Filesonic were very common and widely used for sharing copyrighted movies, games,etc which is why they closed down themselves. Filepost has nothing to fear since they abide by the rules strictly, and no warez is uploaded to them with their knowledge.

 

lol, all hosts know that users are uploading warez! They will never make it "cloud sharing", they would have never paid users if it was not about warez. Before any hosting company starts, they think of only money making and they know very much about warez

 

Where are your facts to back this up? Or are you just making up accustations like the prosecution in the MegaUpload case did. If you're trying to help the destruction of an entire industry, comments like that will do it. As a person who doesn't share illegal content I would prefer you keep your ideas about how other businesses run to yourself. The MPAA are probably watching this thread like hawks you do realize this, and will use comments like that to justify their agenda in court and other places. IMO anybody who even remotely wants to help them is doing the "common good" a very large disservice.

 

just because you only know to upload warez doesnt mean everyone is. am sure you are banned from filepost too

Hope filepost survives. Filepost please ban all those are re-uploading DMCA take down files immediately. Filefactory follows this strict rule this is why I think they still survive now.

I think FilePost should make their filesharing politics clear. I mean super clear.

What kind of content you allow or disallow. (for example, oron deletes non-porn and they block accounts for uploading hollywood movies, but they allow tv series, tv docs etc)

What kind of abuses are allowed and how many. (a letter from the MPAA can be a problem. a letter from some schmuck scat porn producer from brazil is another thing)

 

yeah.. thats a good idea to continue affiliate program and not attract warez uploaders.

 

May I ask if remote upload from Filefactory to Filepost is working ? I'm thinking to switch to Filepost and move all my work here.

 

I agree about stopping PPD, multi link posters especially are of no use to any host, better still make it so no file over 100mb can be downloaded for free
