Hey, I am starting a website with is going to target a 2 words "keyword". I can register any of the following domain names: word1-word2.com word1word2.org word1word2.net Which one do you think would be better SEO wise and user experience wise. Thanks,
Personally I would go for word1-word2.com, this is how I selected my blog, seo-translator.com It does not mean that the .org or .net could not also benefit from the combination, but people remember better a .com In any case, I think the difference from the SEO point of view would be low.
There really is no difference in them as far as SEO is concerned. I have all 3 kinds of domains currently. I would choose word1word2.net personally. You could also choose word1word2X.com. This is done a lot in niche Domains. Google spell check overlooks the X at the end of the Domain Name. It will rank just like it would without the X.
Why just these three TLD's? What about: .ME and .CO? Or some domain hack? But the question is too general IMO. Firstly I supposed that I'm going to find some ask for domain tips.. Have a good luck with it.
There's still evidence that hyphenated domains can have a slight negative affect for SEO (particularly if they are 3 or more hyphenated words). The choice of domain depends on the purpose of the site. If you are building a product or service, you are best to go with a "brandable" name, ie: something catchy and easy to remember. If you are trying to get an exact match domain (EMD), keep in mind that the effectiveness of EMD's is nowhere near as strong as they were a year ago. That said, I'd go with word1word2.net or word1word2.org
thanks for the input. it is not something i want to make a brand of. i think i am going to go with the .net TLD.
Yea, if you can help it, don't use the hyphen is what i was told for SEO, but looks like you're good with your selections
.com would be my first consideration but having the - makes it a bit unsettle for me so i would go for the .org next !
word1-word2.com will be my choice for SEO because there will be a gap and differentiation between the 2 keywords not only for seo for people can read it better.
