    I suppose that the more backlinks you have, the faster it is.

    I don't know the exact time period of displaying in Bing index, but when I've posted my site on Twitter, it's been on Google index in a few hours. So you can speed this process up by posting it on social network(s).

    The more links you have the higher the perceived importance of your site by SE's so they will index.
    Having a sitemap and pinging whenever you have created new content , will make SE's crawl your site.
