    You can get back links by doing do many of page activity like directory submission, bookmark submission, blog commenting, article submission.

    Any decent backlinking program will take time, and lots of it, blogs are good places to comment, also pick high ranking sites that will be around for ever, look for .gov domains

    Getting backlinks is sometimes an extremely tedious task. Copying competitors backlinks creatively is a new technique. Anyhow there some basic tasks you can go with:


    Press Releases
    Directory Submissions
    Social Bookmark Submissions
    RSS Submissions
    WEB 2.0 Sites
    Blogs
    Facebook Profile page(Social Media)
    Power Point Presentations and PDF Submissions


    Take care of value/quality of the backlink instead of the quantity of backlinks.

    There are multiple types of backlinks and the SEs look for a blend of them over time.

    a relatively new site <3months should have lots of profile, whois, about us links ....most site owners don't do this enough and don't know about the automated tool that generate about 2400 of these at one time.

    it doesn't mean that a site that has never done it shouldn't do it...they should as well...did this for a friend on a 5 year old site and increased their Alexa rank by about 4 million and it has held for over 6 months without any work by friend

    a site can build 500 free backlinks using keywords @ http://freebacklinktool.com if you become a premium member you can build 2000 backlinks to interior pages

    http://socialmonkee.com will allow you to build 25 social bookmarks free
