    reciprocal link exchange is often banned by Google. Be careful with this. I recommend you guys to invest a little in buying bulk backlinks or something similar. It's less time consuming, and WAY better results ;)

    Exactly. You guys have to read more about SEO before trying to develop your own backlinking. Or just outsource it to a professional who offers a good Backlink Service.

    Just to addup here, 'relevant link exchanges' are 'not' red flagged by Google.

    But make sure the site you are linking to is not spammy and is not penalized in Google. Also, do not go for bulk/massive link exchanges, this might trigger Google's alarm.

    Link exchanging is The simpliest way of doing it is to email another website owner and ask to do a link exchange. You place their link on your site, usually on a links page and the other site in return will place a link back to you.
