    Ok guys,
I have a question. I read in one of the posts here that PR and Traffic do not have a correlation. But still both are like big ri8?
So here we go.. Say I have a blog about cartoons. And say i got 2 keywords "scooby" and "popeye".. "scooby" is generating 10,000 traffic but my blog is no where in the top ranks.. ok? and "popeye" is generating 2,000 traffic and i have my blog at 40th position in google.. so which key word am i supposed to select? based on rank and traffic??? which one am I supposed to put efforts more on?? realizing more traffic or the rank?? I am not sure if i am putting in right words, since am very new to SEO and stuff.. So if anyone of you got any idea, plz lemme know.. thanks :)

How is the site generating 10,000 in traffic when not in the top ranks? If the traffic source is not search engine why not focus on trying to get traffic for keyword 'popeye' from this source as well? In terms of which keyword would be easier to optimise for I think it would be 'popeye' as this already has a ranking (all other things being equal).

Does your website rank for 'popeye' naturally or by doing promotions? if by naturally then put less efforts on that keyword and more efforts on 'Scooby'.., or else either the way.. lemme know if you need any further info.,

You seem to be confusing stuff. If you mean to correlate PR and traffic, that is Google PageRank and traffic - these are unrelated.

If you're trying to correlate SERP rank and traffic then yes, there is a direct connection. The higher the rank in SERPs, the more traffic you get. Page 1 gets most of the traffic, in fact.

Do you mean they generate this traffic hypothetically, or in real life? Please explain better.

According to me firstly check your competitor's site keyword and than select your keyword. You will want to think about who is your target viewers, and what the main focus of your site will be.Just note down a list of words and phrases that you think people might type into search engines when looking for your website. Each page on your website should have one to three related keyword phrases that are site-specific.
