    Hi,

My client's website is getting around 900 daily visits (with 71% organic, 16% paid[adwords], 7% direct & 6% referrals) which is good as per my knowledge but the problem is that when i check Keywords in "Search Traffic" of "Traffic Sources Overview" a "(not set)" keyword has many visits than other keywords and "(not provided)" in on second position after "(not set)"

So what are these "not set" & "not provided" keyword"?

Give your advise on this topic.

    Thanks,

I also want to know about that "(not provided)" word which shown in the analytics account. I found some visits for this "(not provided)" word for my website, I'm so curious to know about this more.

Hi... The traffic you're receiving from Google is not necessarily mean that it is from Google Search. Google has various products such as iGoogle, Google Plus, etc. You website can be referred from these Google Products as well.

In these cases you'll see this traffic as google / referral as opposed to google / organic or google / cpc.

Google enabled ssl on searches for users logged into a google
Account. When delivering traffic from https to http, the referrer is lost, and with it the search keywords. For now this means the keywords are coming up as "not provided".

In annlytics, "not provided" is nothing but a traffic which comes from secured search and from igoogle.

Has anyone actually tested this theory and confirmed the data? I am left wondering if there are additional sources to those discussed above...
