1.7 Millions page view per month, but low income, why?

I always thought, I am doing everything right, but I found out, I was always wrong. One of my websites is having 1.7 Millions page view per month (about 60,000 a day), but I am not making that amount of money with adsense. I hope you guys could help me with that. I really appreciate all your inputs.

Could you give us an estimate of your current earnings. The amount of clicks, ctr and rpm average of your website.

 

I make about 15-20 dollars with about 800-1500 clicks. average 0.18% CTR and 0.13 RPM.

 

both of your CPC and CTR is very low. This happen can due to non-targeted traffic or your ads placement, do you try to play around with your ads placement? Is it the website in your signature?

 

Use high paying keywords for your website.

 

Try cpm? Seems like it would work well.

 

The NICHE you targetted is LOW CPC ! Time to change your niche...Of course i am NOT referring to competitive niches like insurance or mortgage.

 

It can be your website cpc is very low.
You can try to change title on your content.
Sample : if your site talk about fashion, you can make a title cool / trendy british fashion.
Or you can block ads.

 

1.7 million page view from India and Pakistan? Besides page view means nothing, i can keep refreshing my page over and over to jack up the view count. Its about unique visits.

 

What is your website about? Your visitors might be people who don't click ads, like webmasters and such.

 

Content is king. Remember, clicks are people. You need to engage them. 1.7mil clicks are worthless if the people coming to your site don't see what they expect to see. If the content doesn't engage, the ads won't either.

You are right, but I know that 80% of it is unique.

How do you switch from CPC to CPM? I like to tray it and see, if I can increase my earning. I looked in my adsense account, but I could not find anything about CPM.

My website has tons of different topics, which might be one of the reasons, that I can't earn good money from adsense. I might be wrong. I have no idea.

 

Exactly, your ads are not targeted and showing different things every single time. Even with targeted ads is hard to make money, now that you have non targeted ads, good luck finding a matching person to click on something he/she likes. That's why people talk about micro niche blogs, they are highly targetted. Whoever goes to the site will very likely be interested in the ads, regardless whether they will click on them or not. At least the chance is higher.

 

where is your traffic come from? which country? what niche is your site? 60k per day visit is cool..

 

If your ads are not targeted then try to put ads in adsense so called hotspots.
