    I love the list, but would add netbeans if you do PHP coding -- I write in notepad++ but netbeans is great for finding errors in code. Dreamweaver is meant for non coders! Pretty good choices, would have added photoshop to the list instead of picnik -- makes editing photos a breeze!

    I disagree, if you know how to use Dreamweaver then it is an essential tool to web designing.

    As for the op, those tools are useful but not essential web designing tools.

    When you don't know what you're doing, DW can be a good crutch. Professional coders don't need or want it because it produces awful code. I'd be embarrassed to tell any of our customers we used it. And if I had someone apply for a job and stated he needed it, I wouldn't even consider him for the job.

    I use Instant Text Finder to search for function names and sprocs. It usually returns what i am looking for under a second. So much faster than np++ when searching for a file (Don't get me wrong. I love np++. It's just that when you are dealing with many files, search can take a long time...)
