Linux vs Windows

I am still using windows. I don't understand well linux environment. Need to know why we use linux in home if i get every thing and easy in windows environment.

 

Recommend Windows. done a few youtube searches aswell

Many professionals would say that Linux is better and what's more it's totally free, however simple users are still used to Windows.

 

You are right. Windows was made for simpletons. That's why computer professionals use *nix.

 

Linux is for more advanced pc users and linux is open source .Linux is better than windows cuz behind all internet applications a linux operating system is hiding most of the times.But windows is more friendly user and I think that is the reason that is more popular but not better.

 

Windows - simply because most important software is available only on W.

As someone who has used both I find it ridiculous when people suggest Linux is comparable to Windows in respect of ease of use, it simply is not. If you're prepared to learn Unix commands and willing to bang your head against a wall from time-to-time to do tasks that are simple on Windows then Linux will ultimately reward you with a more stable, responsive and secure OS. If you just want to get on with your life, and that is 99% of users, Windows wins every time. For this reason Linux will probably remain a more popular server than client OS for the foreseeable future.

 

Except the internet and browsers work the same way on *nix as they do on Windows. So do a lot of Windows programs. Once set up, *nix will look the same as Windows is many ways.

Except for tablets, phones and anything mobile. Which just became a larger market than the desktop recently and Windows does not participate much there.

 

always windows operating system is best.

 

i all depends on your needs.....what kinds for you using your pc......

 

How do you know it is best? Where are your supporting statistics? Or are you just blowing hot air?

 

I personally prefer Linux for my hosting!

 

Linux for servers and really important data, windows for day to day PC users.

 

if u have more money, i think u need windows OS for beginner, but if u want to be cracker or ...... linux or bsd is good for you, n very cheap because free for using it.

he..he...but i like windows os now, because its simple and easy to find software which we need (need money for license).

 

Typical DP idiot poster who doesn't know that everything he uses, from the internet to his phone to his dvr to his router, uses Linux and BSD.

 

I want Linux, but it seems like it hard to convert some Window PC Platforms into Linux.
