I was thinking about getting one of my websites listed in the Yahoo Directory but I'm not sure whether it's worth it. I'm also concerned that I'm going to pay the money for submission and not get accept. Do any of you guys have your site listed in the Yahoo Directory. If so, has it had any dramatic change on your rankings?

Yes I'm in it. Most everyone serious about SEO and most of the top sites are in it, too. Do some research for yourself by searching competitive keywords and see if the people I'm the top are in it. I'm not saying this is the only reason why they rank, because its clearly not, it just that they felt it was necessary in an aggressive campaign. SEO isn't cheap sometimes :)

I have paid for a site to be listed in the Yahoo directory. It was $300 and I am not really sure that it was worth it. It did get acccepted with no problems what so ever, it just the $300. I think you could spend That with someone else and get more out of it.

Unless you have a very worthless website, you will get accepted.

I was pondering this a few days ago after paying to submit a client's website .. I remember back in the day, google did boost your rankings based on Y! Directory / DMOZ, but who knows if it still works that way.

Just being in the directory isn't worth $300 IMO if your rankings aren't being boosted because of it.

Long time ago when Yahoo was using it's own search engine, being listed in the directory was worth the money. Now with bing I don't know.

Yahoo things are now getting outdated. Opt for Google. Use DMOZ.
