    Hey Everyone,

Glad to be on the forums!

Anyways, I am considering opening a forum in a few days (adult) and was wondering how people with forums market them to get members etc.

    Thanks alot for your help,
    Derek

Well, I would suggest that you actively participate in other adult forums (there are many high traffic adult forums and I think you must be knowing them as you are planning to start one), and share your forums with them. Make a lot of post in your forums itself with many download links that may be of interested to your members. Learn from the already famous forums. You can aslo join AdultWebmaster forum to get lot of adult website related help...

    Anyway goodluck:)

Make sure your forum is search engine friendly, to get those SE spiders in there. If you can get the URL structure's to look nice, with keywords in it, I'd recommend that.

Other then that, do all the normal tasks to get a site traffic - links, articles, blog postings, etc...

There are many things that you can do:

Pay for forum posters, you can get good offers from people on this forum.
Visit other adult forums and tell them about your forum (link in Sig)
Link exchange with other adult sites
Visit Social Networking sites to tell them about your forum - have you looked on myspace groups to see if there are any adult related ones.

Find out where all adult niche people hang out online then advertise there. Word to mouth advertising is pretty big with good forums. The most important is search engines. Good Luck

"Adult" forums are actually the easiest to start, so you're starting off right.
