    Hi,
What is the best way to see how many websites, or web pages, are linking to your website?

I sometimes use link:yoursite.com in google but i do not think it is 100% accurate. Are there any other better ways?

Google is not best option for checking backlinks. Try at yahoo or MSN.

You'll never see all of them in Google, they show a 'selection' of backlinks.

Take a look at marketleap.com they search Google, MSN and Yahoo.

Yahoo is the best by far. Google shows about 10% of your links.

I am also prefer to use Yahoo as G is not showing all of your backlinks.

Yeah, Google never show accurate back links. It only shows around 25% of the links. Yahoo and MSN are good.

When using yahoo or msn to search for backlinks how exactly do you do it?

For example in google you search for 'link:yoursite.com', so in yahoo/msn what do you do?

Thanks for all the advice/suggestions so far as well.

Try using the linkdomain command as well, this will show you the total number of links that link to any page on the domain - not just the links pointed at the root domain only.

The proper format in Yahoo and MSN for this would be:

    linkdomain:http://www.domain.com

    Hope this helps!
