    I recently purchased a Windows 2003 VPS.
However when I try to run it via VNC, I get this:

Is there something I'm supposed to do, or is it my hosts' fault?

Yea. Is there something I have to do, or the host?

If you do not have access to the cd drive then host needs to reimage it.

Have you checked the position of your drive in the Power on Line-up? I had a similar problem and the Bios was trying to load from cd drive and I had to position up the Hard drive to the #1 spot. But that was with XP I don't know if the server operates the same...Sorry, hope you can get it going.

Gah. He said "don't use 2003, use 2008"
Ok? So I try to set up 2008. I only had two options: Custom or Upgrade
For Upgrade I get this error
    [IMG]

For Custom, I get this error:

So I submitted a ticket saying it wont install. He responds with
"This is due to the drivers, how ever we have already provided you with a free installation, you will have to do the installation on your own accord."
Er? What? Did he say that it's already installed? Because when I try to boot it up via only Hard Disk, it stays stuck at "Booting from Hard Disk"

Hello. As I understand - vps use virtio model, and you must install driver before install windows os. Or use vps without virtio.

The first error is because you need to install the appropriate disk drivers for Server 2003. You need to hit the F6 button during the first phases of the install and then install the disk drivers when asked. This might prove to be quite difficult via VNC.

Your host should have created a custom OS install disk that had the appropriate drivers streamed into the installation so that the disks would be recognised, or used a properly sysprepped image for that VPS hardware.

Server 2003 has very limited in-built support for most disk drives, while server 2008 has much greater support but it's not foolproof as you've found during your second install try.

I assume you're using the templates that your host has made available for you to install on your VPS. It's really down to them to properly sysprep their images so that they work correctly for you, and you need to go back to them.

I don't understand. The host did not give me anything, other than just access to the VPS. I have selections to choose from to insert in the CDROM such as Server 2003, 2008, XP, and bunch of other Linux/Ubuntu that I am not interested in.
I just want 2008, considering he said 2003 is not recommended.
Whenever I try to boot up Hard Disk first or Hard Disk only, I get
    [IMG]
And it stays stuck there. I waited 10minutes+ and nothing changes.

I try pressing F6 anywhere and nothing happens.

I also tried browsing for drivers and it shows this:

When I expand Boot, I see folder such as Program Files, Users, etc. Which I'm assuming that it's already installed, but there's no way I can access it properly with VNC.
    [When I choose X drive, I get

Yep. It's a driver issue with their sysprepped files.

The initial screen shows that when you attempt to boot up the server it connects to a PXE server (a specially set-up server that contains a number of different system images) to download the appropriate sysytem image over the network to your VPS.

The image you're attempting to use obviously doesn't have the appropriate drivers to allow the chosen image to be installed. You'll need to go back to your hosting company, show them the problem, and they will need to either fix the image your using or create a new system image for you.
