What I mean is there is no general rule or best solution. It really depends on the website and on how competitive those keywords/phrases are.
There is no rule for how many keywords a site can target, but you should limit the amount of keywords you target per page to no more than 2 or 3.
As per my experience, You may approach for 2 to 3 keyword per page. You can targeted as per this ratio. The reason is that you may concentrate for three keywords per page. You can not concentrate if you have more that this. I am trying this for my site and I must say this is the perfect ratio.
Everyone is correct. There is no set rule. Personally I target one phrase per page. I try to make sure that this phrase has the highest density, and I make sure that the phrase is sitting at the proper places on the page or article. However, I also try and use the proper supporting phrases as well. There are several similar methods to accomplish the phrase mix, (Google keywords, and Market Samurai, for instance) but I use a specific piece of software to craft the text or article and it also importantly tells me the best phrases to use. And it works. Visit my site and look around. You'll spot it quickly enough. Norm
If we are talking about Google search 2-3 keyword is enough but in case of other search engine it can vary
In one page you can put keywords of max 180 characters and you can target that keywords. If you use more than 180 then that will be keyword stuffing.
