    alexa rank is useless so i would not worry too much about it.

    regarding the index page issue, setup a 301 redirection which will solve the problem you are having. just google 301 redirect and yuo will get all the info you need on how to setup 301 redirection.

    Why do you even care about Alexa? Google is the one that brings you the traffic and the one that you're trying to rank for, you better focus on that.

    Alexa rank means "less than nothing". Spend your time worrying about more useful endeavors. Alexa has nothing to do with ranking something on Google.
