    SEO can take too long. People just can't wait.

    Any recommendation that doesn't deal with dollars?

    It is also a good idea to make your blog do follow that way you will get traffic and also get much needed comments. I also suggest that you submit your blog to niche blog directories. May I suggest this Do Follow Blog Directory .

    you will have to put in effort on your part if you're not spending anything.

    Try submitting to url and blog directories, create youtube video & traffic swap exchange. Should be able to generate some decent traffic for starters :)

    Work for it. Do something that could give you traffic and back links. Do blog commenting, forum posting, article submission. Include your signature on your accounts when you these things.

    The social media is a free tool you are always free to use. Just make sure you don't spam people with your link as it'll annoy them and most likely you will lose your account. You can also do blog commenting on other people's blog. I see visible traffic every time I get the chance to do it.

    i always use social network sites like Twitter and Facebook. And now Google+. They are free and great tools to generate some traffics for a new blog like yours.

    It depends on your blog. I think it's best to post your blog link to communities that are actually interested in your topic. If you post it just anywhere, people will treat it as spam. What topic is your blog?

    If you want quality targeted traffic, you have to wait for your blog to get to the top in the search engine rankings. Focus your effort on the goal. No need to spend money to achieve this.
